Order Bound
Virgil McDane has never been one to back down from a challenge. Maybe that’s why he’d blown the doors off the Tin Man’s mansion and threatened him with a magic wand.
Maybe, given that the Tin Man was both a magical knight infused with the power of Order itself, and also one of the most powerful criminal kingpins in the country, that had been a tad brash? As the Tin Man seeks to repay the insult, Virgil finds himself looking for a way to protect himself.
Enter Augustus Gordon.
Gus is a current squire to the very same order of knights the Tin Man belongs to. Whereas the latter is a psychopathic criminal who brings order to the streets with fear and intimidation, the former is a cop, dedicated to serving his community and protecting those who can’t protect themselves.
Now, Virgil has a chance to help with the squire’s initiation into knighthood, an act that would endear him to the order as a whole and protect him from the Tin Man’s vengeance. But to do so, he will have to escort the squire through a gauntlet of harsh elements and even harsher knights, all while staying out of the Tin Man’s considerable reach.
